Welcome to the New England Acres Neighborhood Website

New England Acres is a community located within Violet Township and Etna Township. This website is here to provide residents with community information. This website is currently under construction. Additional information and details will be updated in the near future. If you are a member of Facebook, you can also join the New England Acres Civic Association Facebook Group to stay connected to your civic association and neighbors. The link to this group is facebook.com/groups/neaca. (Make sure you are logged onto Facebook before going to the link. You can also search for New England Acres Civic Association. The group consists only of residents and homeowners within New England Acres. New England Acres also has a presence on Nextdoor.com

The first meeting was recessed on 7/14/20. An application to rezone the property was submitted to include much smaller lots and increased numbers of homes. This development would connect to New England Acre streets including Faneuil Hall Rd, Cape Code Way and Olde Post Rd. causing increased traffic through NEA. NEIGHBORHOOD ENTRIES

With the help of volunteers and the dues paid, the association maintains the entries to our neighborhood. The association is always looking for volunteers to help with the entries.

FUTURE PROJECTS

Since purchasing ornamental trees that were placed at the entrance to Section 2 on Nantucket Avenue,the association has been putting funds aside for the replacement of trees on New England Avenue. The soil is currently being reconditioned. The entrance at Palmer Road will receive an update also.

DUES

Our civic association is run by volunteers with the help of dues paid by our residents. Only 111 of the 208 households paid their dues last year. The association is very grateful for those who paid and hope other residents will kindly feel the desire to help our community and association remain solvent.

BLOCK PARTY

We had a great block party last year. Planning of the 2021 neighborhood block party will begin. Please consider joining the Block Party Committee in making this the best block party yet!

WELCOMING

We are working on bringing back the he Welcoming Committee to as a way to introduce new residents to our neighborhood. Contact us if you would like to help this committee. If you know of a house which sold, please let us know so we can welcome them to our neighborhood.

NEIGHBORHOOD DIRECTORY

The last NEA Directory was published in 2011. We are considering the need for an updated printed directory since we now have Facebook and Nextdoor as a way to reach neighbors. Please let us kn ow your thoughts on this and if you feel the neighborhood would benefit from a printed directory of neighbors.

GARAGE SALE 2021

We will be announcing the date for the 2021 garage sale in an upcoming newsletter. We typically hold the neighborhood garage sale in on the second week of June. Please reach out and let us know if this should remain the same or be changed.

NEACA MEETING Fall 2020

The annual New England Acres Civic Association meeting will be announced in the July newsletter.

TRICK-OR-TREAT October 31st 2020

Our neighborhood is divided between two townships/counties. NEA follows the trick-or-treat scheduling of Pickerington to ensure the entire neighborhood is on the same schedule. This year, Halloween falls on a Saturday.

The last NEA Directory was published in 2011. Please consider helping us with updating the directory with current resident information and canvassing.

BLOCK PARTY 2021

Next year is the year for the neighborhood block party.

WALKING/RUNNING

There was some interest in a walking/running club recently suggested. If you joined the neighborhood Facebook group, you can join the chat about the walking/running club. We will try and figure out a way to communicate within the club for those not on Facebook.

GARDENING

In the past, our neighborhood had a gardening club. If anyone is interested in starting a gardening club back up, let the association know.

NEW CLUB IDEAS?

Want to start up a new club? Let the civic association know and we will will help promote it.

Block party planning will begin. We can use additional organizers and volunteers. August or September 2021..

A neighborhood garage sale will be planned for 2021.

You will find New England Acres is a great place to live, and is a well-kept secret! We welcome you and hope you will join your Association and be a vital part of this great community!
