Drainage
There was an awful amount of standing water in yards, both in Violet and Etna Townships. Did you know that your respective townships will put in the pipe, purchased by you according to their specs, for free and cover it with dirt and grade it! The following are the specifications for each township as published in the NEACA July 2017 Newsletter. Policies may have changed. Please verify with the township for your location. Etna Township Call the township office, 740-927-7717. Tell them you are interested in putting in drain pipes in your front or side yard that butts up to the street. They will come out and tell you what kind and what size pipe you will need to buy. You purchase the pipe, call them back. They will install the pipe FREE, cover it with dirt and grade it. They will not seed or straw ... that is your responsibility. Violet Township Call the township office: 614-575-5556. Ask to speak with their engineer, Mr. Greg Butcher. They will come out and review your request and let you know if they feel it's feasible. They will tell you what size and kind of pipe to purchase. You buy the pipe, call them. They do have specs for their approval. You have to fill out a "right-of-way application that you must fill out first. If all is approved, they will put in your pipe for FREE, cover it with dirt and grade it! They do not seed or straw either.
